Zusammenfassung: Developing new audio products involve extensive use of virtual models and simulation, which supports an optimized design prior to realizing the first physical prototype and the desired acoustical properties can be validated by measurements. This paper documents an investigation of how the intrinsic acoustic poroelastic material properties of selected porous membranes can be estimated. The studied porous membranes are often used in audio product. The properties are deduced by using parameter estimation combining simulations in COMSOL Multiphysics and measurements performed using the Transmission Loss Tube Type 4206 from Hottinger Brüel & Kjær.The results of the simulation and the measurement results are analysed to determine the correlation between the two.
